The Youth Advisory and Scientific Council – at Technical College “General Gheorghe Magheru” Tg-Jiu.

Through the project “Activating future leaders for nature protection” we reached the Technical College “General Gheorghe Magheru” from Targu Jiu.

Andra Croitoru – responsible for environmental education at Propark-Foundation for Protected Areas, together with Felicia Sucea, biologist at National Park – “Defileul Jiului National Park” and the coordinating teacher from the college: Uscatescu Ramona, created a learning space for students from Xth and XIth grades.

Our trainers facilitated a class on activism and protected areas, with lots of information about nature and a simulation of the voting process, from setting up a party, election campaign, polling station and voting, to understand that they have a say in society – and an important one.

At the end of the meeting, the students formed two groups that will represent the two Youth Councils – Scientific and Advisory. They will debate a specific situation of the Defileul Jiului National Park – Defileul Jiului National Park – namely: the situation of the mansions – temporary dwellings & the possibility to be transformed into accommodation.
