The Youth Advisory and Scientific Council – at “Simion Mehedinți” High School

Through the project “Activating future leaders for nature protection” we reached the High School “Simion Mehedinți”, in Vidra, Vrancea county.

Together with the Putna Vrancea Natural Park – thanks to Ionuș Irimia – responsible for environmental education in the park, we created a learning space for 20 students from Xth to XIIth grades.

We facilitated a different kind of “class” about the importance of nature – especially the importance of their protected area and why it is vital to conserve and protect nature there.

At the end of the meeting, the students formed two groups that will represent the two Youth Councils – Scientific and Advisory Councils – of the park.

Together they will document the theme of bears in the park, the ones we meet on the roadsides, the danger for humans, the danger for nature and what solutions can be found in this situation.
